During his high school days in Newfoundland, Tyler Brake started dreaming up what his future could look like. Some people conform to a ready-made career, but Tyler wanted to carve out his own path.

Tyler always had an interest in engineering, particularly architectural engineering. But a full-time office job? Not for him. Tyler pursued civil and corporate engineering instead. After graduating from the University of Ontario, he made the move out west to Red Deer, Alberta. In 2010, Tyler co-founded full-service engineering firm TNT Canada Consultants (TNTCC).

TNTCC has given Tyler the flexibility he’s always wanted—the perfect balance of designing at his desk and working out in the field. He enjoys the variety of projects and the diverse backgrounds of the people he gets to work with; from sub-contractors to council members. It keeps Tyler on his toes. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

When he’s not taking care of business, Tyler’s taking his motorcycle out on the open road. He’s right at home following all of the exciting twists and turns along the way.

We’re proud to be a trusted partner for Tyler and TNTCC. We may not average 15,000 kilometres a year on motorcycle trips, but we can sure relate to his professional integrity and commitment to clients.

We prefer to work with those we know because we understand the quality of work and if they’re a good company to work with. We've noticed over the years, SCN has always been that; the timelines are good, their pricing stays consistent, they're within the budget that they use for estimates and the communication side has always been good… It just works well with the morals that we have personally and from a business perspective.
