Darren Cherniak didn’t set out to achieve a degree in Environmental Science or start a business. But sometimes, with a little bit of fate and a lot of hard work, the pieces just fall into place. For Darren, that’s exactly what happened.
In 2002, Darren started North Shore; a small but mighty environmental consulting firm specializing in services like remediation, reclamation, emergency spill response and air quality. Since then, he’s watched his business grow from one location to five across Alberta and in Saskatchewan.
And it’s all thanks to his accomplished team building a great reputation in the industry, says Darren. They’ve been agile, adapting to economic upswings and downturns; criteria changes and new emissions regulations. They continue to find ways to bring value to their clients by being flexible in an ever-evolving industry.
As they expand and explore new frontiers, Darren counts on us to provide North Shore with the power to grow.
I've been working with Sheldon for quite a few years now and I see a lot of similarities in our work ethic, our view of business and how to treat clients. The pride I see Sheldon take in his work and the attitude that he brings to the job is one I relate with. And that’s one of the main reasons why I keep calling Nichols Electric time and again.

Scott can’t control the weather, but he can avoid delays due to equipment breakdowns by working with reliable and efficient contractors like Nichols Electric.
